Shall vampires go public? — Publishing Lab

Publishing means many things ranging from spontaneous action to more articulated and standardised professional workflow. Publishing is both a gesture and a process, it can be a punctual event as well as a life-long project. But one thing for sure: to publish is to occupy a space, being it physical or digital. In these pages, publishing is not understood as a private process, which aims at producing a final output to be distributed. It is instead a public process in which a space for debate and negotiation is produced. This publication serves at first all those involved in the making of it. It gathers our views on publishing today and aims at building a shared knowledge as a group. What seems to be limited in scope exemplifies instead a possibility for reframing the very function of publishing. We don’t make books, we make books for making everything else.
